BEM visits BEM member company Second Ride
The Bundesverband eMobilität stands for close cooperation with its member companies – direct exchange and insight into innovative business models is a central component of this partnership. BEM board member Christian Heep recently visited BEM member company Second Ride, whose work impressively demonstrates how sustainable mobility solutions can be successfully implemented.
Second Ride specialises in the electrification of two-stroke Simson mopeds and offers conversion kits that transform these vehicles into emission-free everyday companions. The company combines innovation and sustainability by conserving resources and contributing to the transport revolution at the same time.
The visit focussed in particular on the current political and legal framework. Challenges such as the different regulations on the authorisation of electrified mopeds show how important clear legal requirements are for the further development of sustainable mobility solutions. Together with Second Ride, the BEM Board discussed political solutions and addressed them to politicians in order to both improve market opportunities for retrofit companies and advance the goals of the mobility transition.
The visit underlines the BEM’s commitment to actively supporting its member companies and representing their interests at a political level. Second Ride impressively demonstrates how the combination of innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and sustainability can shape the mobility of the future – and how important it is that bureaucracy does not act as a brake on this development.
