Federal infrastructure
dialogue
The final event of the federal government’s infrastructure dialogue took place in Berlin on 27 January 2025. The aim of this dialogue, initiated by the BMDV, was to further develop transport planning in line with climate targets and to provide impetus for the future Federal Transport Infrastructure and Mobility Plan (BVMP) 2040.
Over 160 associations from the transport, environment, business and consumer protection sectors contributed their perspectives. Markus Emmert took an active part in the discussions and emphasised the importance of a systemic transformation of the transport infrastructure in order to combine both ecological and economic goals. Despite intensive discussions, key points of conflict, particularly between road and rail expansion, could not be resolved.
As part of the event, the BMDV presented the report on the review of the requirements plans (BPÜ). The results of the dialogue should serve as a basis for future planning, even if a final infrastructure consensus was not reached.
