Petition: Germany must rethink its transport policy
EM board member Markus Emmert has been intensively involved in the federal government’s ‘infrastructure dialogue’ on federal transport infrastructure planning for over two years. His goal: more dynamism and possibilities for adaptation in order to modernise the rigid construct and make planning fit for the future. Together with PARENTS FOR FUTURE Deutschland, NABU e.V. has now launched a petition to the Bundestag to finally adapt transport planning to the urgently needed climate protection and nature conservation goals.
Priority must be given to maintaining bridges, roads and railways and expanding the rail network. The requirement plans with the planned and unfinished transport projects must be reviewed with regard to nature conservation and climate targets and the transport projects must be reprioritised. To this end, the transport expansion laws (FStrAbG, BSWAG, WaStrAbG) must be adapted.
The petition runs until 13 December 2024 and we need 30,000 signatures. Every vote counts to drive forward the transport transition. Let’s fight together for sustainable mobility…!
